BELGIUM FORCES

Belgium’s Korea Volunteer Corps (Corps Volontaires Corea) was comprised of 900 Infantry troops. The 1^st Belgium Battalion (1^st Bataillon Belge) arrived in December 1950 and was attached to the U.S. 3^rd Infantry Division in January 1951. It was replaced by the 2^nd Belgium Battalion (2^nd Bataillon Belge) in Aug 1951. The 2^nd Belgium Battalion remained in Korea until Jun 1955. Additionally, a 44-man, all volunteer infantry platoon from Luxembourg served with the Belgium Battalions throughout the war.
